I was involved in a car accident and substained injury to my knee. I was awarded ,000 for pain and suffering. My attorney is giving me ,500, keeping 75%! This seems ridiculously high, how much can lawyers charge? I was under the impression that no more than 35%.

I want to know how do the lawyer take his percentage out of the settlement. There are three people injury in one accident so do the lawyer takes his 25% fee from each person’s settlement. My husband, son, and me got into a car accident. Do he takes out his 25% from each of our settlement or do he take one 25% out of total amount of our settlement combine?

My mom has probably the worst personal injury attorney. Some idiot ambulance chaser recommended them. For all we know, they may have already settled and just don’t want to give her the money. Problem is they never return calls and refuse to answer the phone. I wish she would have consulted with me first, because I did a 3 minutes internet search and came up with this review which truly describes the scum bags.
"My wife and I were referred to this "attorney" when we were involved in a car accident. A teenager ran and red light and totalled our car. Open and shut case right? They took over two years to settle the case and charged us over 65 percent of our settlement. The fee wasn’t the biggest problem I had with this office, it was the people. They are very rude, unprofessional, and never available. You end up leaving a lot of messages and hoping they will call you back. When the case settled, we were told to expect a check in the mail in 5 to 7 business days. Two weeks later…no check. We called and inquired about our money and they said 5 to 7 business days. Two weeks later…still no check. Two months later they said, "you can come and pick it up" When we got there we waited in the waiting room for 5 minutes and then the receptionist literally opened the door and shoved an envelope in my face and before I can say anything, she closed the door. Everyone at this office is just horrible. Please do yourself a favor and do not use this office."
So my question is this. Is there anything she can do to either get rid of them and get a new attorney? Who can she file a complaint with?
These people are horrible. They constantly tell her to be available for a phone call (and she waits like a big sucker) and they never call. I’m livid…enough is enough! What can we do in this situation?

I’m wondering this because there are many people being forcibly drugged and elelctro-shocked throughout the United States, and the world. These "treatments" can and do cause pain, fear, terror, irreversable brain damage, infertility, and even death among many, many other adverse effects. Do attorneys deal with these issues? Or is it something they avoid for a particular reason?
It reminds me of the joke of an "ambulance chaser"
all these attorney’s have to do is get aquainted with psychiatric survivors, and this would be big bucks both for the lawyers, and for the poor souls who have encountered this institution.
and I forgot to mention, there are plenty of "Reglan" commercials on television these days. It is a heart burn medication, that can cause Tardive Dyskinesia. What most people do not know is many people are FORCED to take anti-psychotic drugs that produce the same thing, Tardive Dyskinesia. I think they are entitled to sue just as much as any Reglan user, don’t you? They were forced to take it, which compounds mental distress, and then leaves the victim with other health issues to deal with and further traumatization.
